The Dodge Charger Daytona was built exclusively in 1969 as a homologation car. In order for it to legally race in NASCAR, at least 500 units of factory-built street versions must be available to the public. Priced around $3,860, Dodge made 505 of them, making the Dodge Charger Daytona one of the rarest and most sought-after muscle cars ever. Don’t let the “street version” fool you, these wild-looking freak shows meant business. Equipped with a 426 HEMI, it ran a quarter mile in the 13-second range blazing through the traps in excess of 104mph. On the NASCAR track, race versions would eclipse 200mph!
